Postponement of 10th Ordinary PAPU Plenipotentiary Conference
Postponement of 10th Ordinary PAPU Plenipotentiary Conference
As you are aware, PAPU in collaboration with the Republic of Zimbabwe has been preparing for the successful organization of the 10th Ordinary session of the Plenipotentiary Conference, initially scheduled to take place from 8th to 20th June 2020 in Victoria Falls.
Unfortunately, due to the outbreak of the global coronavirus pandemic, the Republic of Zimbabwe has requested for the postponement of the Conference from the earlier scheduled date.
Considering the reasons advanced in their attached letter, which is widely known and globally acknowledged, we are left with no other option than to postpone the 10th Ordinary Session of the PAPU Plenipotentiary Conference.
Meanwhile we shall continue to liaise with the host country of the Conference and advice on a new date when it becomes safer to proceed with this very important quadrennial Conference.
With regard to the implications of this postponement, the General Secretariat will seek guidance from the Plenipotentiary Conference Bureau in order to keep you abreast of developments and provide you with updates accordingly.
