Dakar Hosts Africa’s Postal Regulators

The African Postal Regulators Conference was held yesterday, 23rd May 2023 at the King Fahd Hotel in Dakar (Senegal) on the theme “Regulation in the digital era for a sustainable postal sector”. In attendance were delegates from 39 African countries and three subregional bodies.
Following the official opening presided by the Honourable Minister of Communications, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy of Senegal, Mr. Moussa Bocar Thiam, in the presence of the Dr. Sifundo Moyo (SG PAPU) and Mr. Abdou K. Sall (DG of the Regulatory Authority), the central theme was unpacked by three panel discussions, each of which delivered recommendations as key takeaways from the Conference.
The event, jointly organized by the Government of Senegal, PAPU and the UPU is being followed from 24th to 25th May by the UPU Capacity-Building Workshop for Africa’s Postal Regulators.
