TANZANIA IS OPTIMISTIC ABOUT THE GROWTH OF THE POSTAL SECTOR

Mr. Celesine Kakele, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Communications, and Technology of the United Republic of Tanzania, shared impressive developments in the Tanzanian Postal Sector. He highlighted these advancements during the 44th PAPU Day Commemorations held on January 18, 2024, at PAPU Tower in Arusha.

In representing the Minister of Information, Communications, and Information Technology, Hon. Nape Nnauye, he expressed Tanzania’s confidence and optimism that African postal services are well-positioned to deliver effective, reliable, and profitable commercial services to the business community, particularly micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.

He stated, “With the existence of the National Physical Addressing system, Tanzania has laid the foundation for a robust service delivery system that aligns with customer expectations, as articulated in this year’s PAPU Day theme.”

Acknowledging that building a robust postal service requires government commitment, oversight, and support, the Tanzanian government pledges to ensure the provision of unparalleled postal services with quality standards at affordable prices for all customers, without discrimination against rural areas.
