Jessica Hope Ssengooba is the Assistant Secretary General (ASG) of the Pan African Postal Union (PAPU), a position she has held since 1st September 2021. She is a trained International Relations (IR) and Diplomatic professional with 22 years of experience in leadership and management at the senior level, including positions at the National Designated Operator in Uganda and at regional and international levels.
The Assistant Secretary General has significantly contributed to critical postal industry initiatives and concerns involving the PAPU General Secretariat and Member States.
Her visionary leadership qualities, commitment, technical competence, and relevant, valuable experience have contributed significantly to PAPU’s top-level decisions and related postal industry initiatives.
Relevant experience is valuable. Jessica Hope Ssengooba is, therefore, already abreast of the Union’s challenges and strategic opportunities in executing the PAPU Convention. She has strong technical and governance competencies by virtue of her expansive experience in leadership positions in high-level postal sector forums.
The ASG is aware of developing countries’ concerns, which are, in fact, their need for postal services to support the AU Agenda 2063 and the UN Sustainable Development Agenda 2030.
